ELTC Online Academy

We are excited to be launching the debut of a new online theatre education resource called Exit Left Online Academy. This interactive learning experience is for students who are currently in grades 8-12. Through this 8 week course we will be providing online classes twice a week that cover acting techniques, theatre history, as well as singing/vocal acting techniques. 

 

Along with these lessons, once a week students will have the opportunity to connect and interact with current stars of the stage and screen including:

 

Three Time Tony Nominee Terrence Mann (Mr. Whispers in Netflix’s Sense 8, Beast in Beauty and the Beast - Tony Nom., Javert in Les Miserables - Tony Nom., Charles in Pippin - Tony Nom.),  Joe Serafini (Seb in High School Musical the Musical The Series), McKenzie Kurtz (Anna in Frozen on Broadway), Jennifer Cody (Vice President of Actors Equity, Voice of Charlotte in Princess and the Frog, Bway: Urinetown, Seussical, Shrek the Musical), Leanne Antonio (Lion King on Tour), Aaron Alcarez (Mean Girls on Broadway), and many more!

 

Lessons occur on Mondays from 4-5:30 and Thursdays from 4-5. Classes begin Monday, April 6 and the first week is FREE. After the first week students will be asked to pay $20 a week, however scholarships are provided for those who are currently unable to afford that. 

 

These classes are for all students, no matter their past experience, and are a great way to explore the world of theatre whether they wish to pursue it professionally, or if they are just lovers of the arts. 

 

Classes will be taught by Jamie Colburn, Taryn Timmer Roels, and Mary Jo Gray. Jamie is our company’s founder and has his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan. He currently lives in New York City as a professional actor.  Taryn is an educator at Zeeland Public Schools and is the theatre director for both Cityside and Creekside Middle Schools. Mary Jo has an extensive background in educational theatre having worked for many years as a teacher, director, and producer at First Stage Theatre Academy in Milwaukee, WI.
